OCCUPY IN YOUR CAPACITY

Oct 25, 2026  •  Bishop Vernon Thomas

What does it mean to truly occupy the space God has called us to fill? This message cuts straight to the heart of a question many of us quietly wrestle with. Drawing from the parables in Matthew 25 and Luke 19, we are confronted with the reality that God does not distribute gifts and abilities equally, but He does expect every one of us to work fully within the capacity He has assigned.

The servant who received five talents was not judged against the one who received ten. The servant who received one was not condemned for having less. The failure came from doing nothing at all. That is the piercing truth we are invited to sit with. God knows our capacity, and He is not asking us to be someone else. He is asking us to be fully, faithfully ourselves.

When we spend our energy resenting the gifts of others or waiting until we feel significant enough to act, we bury what God has entrusted to us. The invitation here is to stop comparing and start occupying, to take what we have been given, however small it may seem, and put it to work for the Kingdom.
